The Discovery Marine range of analogue addressable fire detectors is designed for larger vessels and high-specification marine installations. These detectors are engineered to meet the requirements of sophisticated systems, providing reliable protection while minimising false alarms. Discovery Marine detectors are ideal in applications where detection needs to be adapted to varying environmental conditions and where protection against unwanted alarms is critical.
The Discovery Marine Heat Detector uses a single thermistor to monitor air temperature at the detector location. This thermistor is part of a resistor network that generates a voltage output proportional to temperature. The network, combined with the microcontroller processing algorithm, produces an approximately linear response from 10 °C to 80 °C. This signal is then processed according to the selected response mode and converted into an analogue output for the fire detection system.
