The Orbis Marine Multisensor Detector incorporates the same advanced false-alarm reduction technology as the optical detector, enhanced by the inclusion of an integrated heat-sensing element.
Operation:
Multisensor smoke detectors are widely recognised as effective for general fire detection and offer increased sensitivity to rapidly developing, flaming fires—including liquid-fuel fires—when compared with optical detectors alone. They may be used as a direct replacement for optical smoke detectors, but are particularly recommended for areas where fire risks are likely to involve an early rise in heat during fire development. As with Orbis Marine optical smoke detectors, high detection reliability is combined with strong immunity to false alarms.
The Orbis Marine multisensor detector incorporates two sensing elements: one for smoke and one for heat. Alarm decisions are generated from either sensor individually or through a combined analysis of both. Building on the design of the Orbis Marine optical detector, the multisensor extends fire detection capability by enhancing responsiveness to fast-burning, flaming fires. While the optical sensing chamber is identical to that used in the optical detector, its sensitivity is influenced by the heat sensor, improving overall performance.
